Signals, not certainty

Fraud prevention combines account protections, device integrity, behavioral signals, transaction monitoring, and human review. These controls can reduce risk, but no system can promise to stop every fraudulent attempt before harm occurs.

  • Detect suspicious sign-ins, impossible travel, and unusual device changes.
  • Rate-limit automated attacks and step up authentication when risk increases.
  • Review abnormal marketplace or payout activity.
  • Suspend questionable access while preserving an appeal and recovery path.

Future sensor research

Nanosensor-based tamper detection is a research direction and would require compatible hardware. It is not necessary for the core risk program and is not presented as currently deployed.
